Privacy policy

Effective date: October 5, 2026

This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with and the choices you have. It covers fairentities.com and the other FAIR website that shares the same systems: Fair Entities (fairentities.com), the client hub where you sign in and manage your companies, and Fair Permits (fairpermits.com), where you can request help with Texas business licenses and permits. Both are operated by Long Marathon, Inc., a Texas corporation ("FAIR", "we", "us").

Information we collect

Information you give us.

  • Fair Permits request form: your name, email address, phone number (optional), business name, city (optional), the service you need, any details you add, and your confirmation that you understand we are not a law firm.
  • Fair Entities account: your email address and a password, which is stored only as a secure hash by our sign-in provider. We never see or store your password itself.
  • Google sign-in, if you choose it: Google shares your name, email address and profile picture link with us (the "email" and "profile" permissions only). We do not get access to your Gmail, contacts, calendar or files.
  • Company records you add or ask us to keep: company names and details, members and their roles, ownership percentages, service requests, deadlines and documents you or we upload.
  • Anything you send us by email.

Information collected automatically.

  • Spam protection: our request form uses Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks signals from your browser and your IP address to tell people apart from automated bots. We pass your IP address to Cloudflare for this check. We do not save it with your request.
  • Hosting and security: like any website, our hosting provider (Cloudflare) receives your IP address and basic browser information when you visit, and uses it to deliver the pages and protect them from attacks.
  • Fonts: our pages load fonts from Google Fonts, so your browser connects to Google's servers, which receive your IP address and browser information.

What we never ask for. We do not ask for Social Security numbers or full bank account numbers through our websites, and please do not send them to us. We do not take payments online at this time. If we start, a payment processor will handle card details and we will update this policy first.

Cookies and browser storage

We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not use any analytics or advertising tools. We only store what the sites need to work:

  • When you sign in, your sign-in session is kept in your browser's local storage so you stay signed in. Signing out removes it.
  • If you choose light or dark mode, that choice is kept in your browser's local storage.
  • Cloudflare may use strictly necessary cookies or similar signals for security and spam protection.

How we use your information

  • To reply to your request, prepare a quote and, once you approve, carry out the work.
  • To create and run your account, show you your companies and records, and remind you of deadlines.
  • To send you emails about your request or account, such as a confirmation that we received your request, sign-up confirmation and password reset emails, and updates about work you asked for. These are transactional messages, not marketing. We do not send marketing emails without your permission, and any marketing email we send will include a way to unsubscribe.
  • To keep our sites and systems secure and to stop spam, fraud and abuse.
  • To meet our legal, tax and record-keeping obligations and to protect our rights.

We do not sell your personal information, we do not share it for targeted advertising, and we do not use it for profiling that produces legal or similarly significant decisions about you.

Who we share it with

We share personal information only with:

  • Supabase: our database, sign-in and file storage provider. Our database and uploaded documents are stored in Supabase's Canada (Central) region.
  • Cloudflare: website hosting, security and spam protection (Turnstile).
  • Google: Google Workspace (Gmail) sends our emails to you and to our staff, Google Fonts serves the fonts on our pages, and Google sign-in if you choose it.
  • GitHub (owned by Microsoft): stores our encrypted daily database backups.
  • Government agencies, but only the information needed to file what you have approved.
  • Others when the law requires it, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or with your permission.

Our service providers may use your information only to provide their services to us. If our business or these services are transferred to another company, including a planned transfer to FAIR, Inc., your information may be transferred as part of that, and this policy will continue to apply to it.

Where your data is stored

We are based in the United States. Our database and uploaded documents are stored in Canada with Supabase. Our hosting, email and backup providers may process data in the United States and other countries. By using our services you understand that your information may be stored and processed outside your state or country.

How we protect it

All connections to our sites use encryption (HTTPS). Database access rules mean each signed-in person can see only the companies they belong to, and uploaded documents are kept in private storage. Staff access is limited to people who need it to do the work. Our daily backups are encrypted before they are stored. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will tell you if a breach affects you as the law requires.

How long we keep it

We keep your records while your account is open and for as long as we need them to provide our services and to meet legal, tax and record-keeping obligations. When a record is deleted in our system, a copy is kept in an internal recycle bin so mistakes can be undone. You can ask us to delete your information at any time and we will do so, including removing it from the recycle bin, except where we must keep it by law. Our encrypted daily backups are kept for 90 days and then removed automatically, so deleted information leaves our backups within 90 days.

Your rights and choices

You can ask us to:

  • confirm whether we hold personal information about you and give you a copy of it,
  • correct information that is wrong,
  • delete your information, and
  • give you your information in a portable format.

Residents of Texas and some other states have these rights under state privacy laws, and we offer them to everyone. Because we do not sell personal information, use it for targeted advertising or profile people, there is nothing to opt out of, but you may still ask. You can also close your account at any time.

To make a request, email [email protected] from the email address on your account or request, and tell us what you would like. We may need to confirm your identity before acting. You may use an authorized agent, who must show us your written permission. We will respond within 45 days. If we need more time, we will tell you, and we may take up to 45 more days where the law allows. We will not treat you differently for using these rights.

If we decline your request, you can appeal by replying to our answer with the word "Appeal". We will answer your appeal within 60 days. If you are not satisfied with the result, Texas residents may contact the Texas Attorney General at texasattorneygeneral.gov.

Children

Our services are for businesses and adults. They are not meant for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will post the new version on this page with a new effective date. If a change is significant, we will also tell account holders by email before it takes effect.
